A is for Animal, Z is for Zoo, H is for HOT

Lesson learnt: Never visit the Zoo on the first weekend of the June holidays.

1) The whole world is there with their children. There are people everywhere -- the shows are packed, as are the restaurants, and it's hard getting a good view anywhere. And it's NOISY.

2) It's SUPER HOT.

Daddy, save me from this sweltering heat!

3) Because of 1 and 2 above, you hardly see any animals, which kinda defeats the purpose of going to the zoo in the first place!

Obviously it's more interesting looking at the squawking birds than at the camera (again). This was probably the closest we got to animals all day unfortunately.

The zoo isn't my favourite destination -- am really not an animal person -- so with the unbearable heat, I was a total grumpus. Thankfully we had Josh, Mich and Sophie for company. I took frequent breaks in the shade with Mich while the Daddies took the babies to the various exhibits to try to spot the animals.

I did enjoy the one show that we managed to catch, though I did feel a little sorry for the penguins and sealions at the Splash Amphitheater, having to live and adapt to our climate.

Noey not looking that impressed with the show. A hot baby is a tough audience!

Even Whale Watchers need their nap

Hey, my nap is over -- Why am I still here??

I was particularly glad on this instance that we have a zoo membership so there was less pressure to see EVERYTHING before we leave. Guess we'll be back on another hopefully cloudy day...

he's still too young to appreciate the animal right? We brought alex when he's 9mths. He noticed zebras and penguins and that's it.

  8. I still remember how unbearable the heat was when we went the last trip. In the end we had to cut short the excursion and escape to air-conditioned comfort of Northpoint! Ha.
