Noey and I love it when Papa gets off early cos we get to go out! Thursday was a perfect cloudy day so we decided it was a good day to be outdoors and whisked over to the Botanics to have a run around.
I think Noey certainly enjoyed the acres of space available to him to explore. We brought him to one of the big patches near the front of the gardens and turned him loose, and he of course seized the opportunity to run as much as his little legs could carry him.
He ran, plucked grass, went to check out the leaves on the nearby shrubs, almost stepped on a dead frog (!!!) and annoyingly, kept running downhill towards a point where the grass verge drops sharply off next to a pavement, so my grand plan for us to sit around while he carried out some self-exploration was sadly foiled. DD gladly did most of the running around anyway, so I shouldn't complain! And oh, Noey also ate the bread meant for the swans that some nice kids decided to share with him.
It was funny to think that the last time I'd come round to this part of the Botanics, I was heavily pregnant. That was the day before Noey's birth when DD thought it would be a good idea to drag me on a long walk-about. We think that the fact that Noey was born the next day, a good 8 days before he was due was probably a result of all that walking.
It's now been almost a year and the little man is the one doing all the walking.
We rounded off the day with a coupe of pizzas from Casa Verde. They have an amazing 1-for-1 deal on their takeaway pizzas which was just perfect for us. S$23 for 2 pizzas was such a steal. The pizzas tasted as good as they look.
They looked so good that Noey wanted to eat them too (we were wondering why he slipped into his highchair with nary a complaint) and got into a crying fit when he realised that he wasn't in fact going to have an and his dinner was PORRIDGE. In the end we had to hide the pizzas and he still flatly refused the porridge and ended up having a dinner of wholemeal bread and banana. Ah well, maybe next time round he'll be old enough to have some of the pizza. He will after all be 1 in 2 weeks! (Eeeps.)
Come home early again soon Papa!
They are growing up so fast. Soon you'll be running after him, pulling him down from furniture -- all that great stuff....
