We took advantage of the Good Friday holiday to utilise a soon-to-be-expiring hotel voucher and checked into the Swissotel Stamford for a night away from home. We couldn't get another night as the hotel was fully booked but on the plus side, they allowed us to check in at 9am on Friday so we really got to enjoy an extended stay nonetheless!
All bright and cheery making himself at home!
"Hey, this phone works! Awesome!"
It worked too well unfortunately. We ended up paying $2.50 for a call he managed to make. Argh.
You, Papa, step away please, I'm putting through an important call!
The really pretty spectacular view we got from our room on the 37th floor.
Best of all -- all the cars, buses, trucks, etc. that Noey could point at to his heart's content.
It was a surprisingly good break! We were able to wander around the area at leisure, shopping, munching on snacks and just going for walks. I realised that because of all the house-hunting we've been doing, our weekends have pretty much been shot for the last many months. It felt so good just to be out and about without any schedule (save Noey's sleep and meal times, which I can be quite anal about), doing our own thing. It was both literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air.
Noey saying hi to his shadow along the Esplande boardwalk.
A shot with Marina Bay Sands in the background. It's already April so they should be opening soon! As you can see, both of us are squinting into the sun. Even when Noey saw this photo on my computer, he said "bright!".
Bathtime! Noey enjoying the huge tub. Except that he kept trying to stretch out his legs and lean back like he does in his little bathtub at home, but he kept slipping in the big tub cos his feet can't touch the opposite end!
We went to cut Noey's hair and this is the end result. DD got to experience first hand why I was so reluctant to bring him for his haircut alone when we had to hold down a kicking and screaming Noey just so that the hair stylist could get the job done. If I had my way, I would have gotten his hair cut even shorter so that we don't have to go through that ordeal for a while longer!
Noey wiped out for the night in his usual unfriendly bed-hogging position, while Mummy is busy on her iPhone (what else?)
So despite it being only a day and the fact that we still very much in the same country, it actually felt like a holiday. It was a welcome break and a nice start to the long weekend, just the hubby, baby and me.
looked like a blissful 'trip'
ReplyDeleteoh btw, i gave up on whats app coz everytime i clicked on it it brought me to my address book which is extremely unhelpful. have to figure out how to download it again now that it requires payment of 59p :p
