Swensen's Disney Princess Ice-Cream Cake {Giveaway}

It feels like we can't get enough of Disney in these parts.

I admit it, it's as much me as it is the kids. And when you have a little girl, there is just no escaping Disney Princesses. I never set out to introduce them to Meips but you know what, she loves them anyway. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a girl who doesn't! So when her birthday rolled round this year, I thought she would love one of Swensen's new range of ice-cream cake designs featuring the Disney Princesses. 

My little girl's eyes lit up when I showed her the range of designs. There are 21 different ones for you to choose from and this is the one she picked:

The kids couldn't wait to eat this cake when I picked it up, but unfortunately wait we did, as Meips and I inopportunely fell ill on Meips' birthday and for a while after that. So when we were finally well enough to have cake and celebrate, boy, was Meips chuffed. It was one of those rare moments when I didn't have to prompt her to smile for the camera.

Definitely the highlight of her week. And Noey's too because, mmm, ice-cream! I plumped for the Swensen's Special as the flavour and we had 3 delicious layers of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, all in one cake. Upon tucking in, this was given the thumbs up by everyone, young and old. The kids attacked the ice-cream with gusto and made a beeline for the white chocolate circles that encircled the cake. My mother-in-law was certainly pleasantly surprised to find that the ice-cream was not as sweet as she thought it would be. For me, I just found the 3 classic flavours the perfect combination.
