34 Weeks

We are ever drawing closer to D-Day and it is certainly telling in the aches and pains I'm suffering!

34 weeks and I'm really getting huge.

We went for my 34-week check-up yesterday, and I'm glad that everything seems normal. Normal is good, I say. I've put on 2.2kg in 2 weeks (Yikes!) and Baby Girl weighed in at 2.4kg, up from the 1.8kg just 2 weeks ago. DD says Baby Girl is filling up on melon seeds. I shot him a reproachful look for that comment, but I guess if you've ever seen me demolishing a pile of them, you'll know why he said that! Incidentally, Noey was the same weight at this stage so it looks like Baby Girl's birth weight might be on par with his.

A peek at our girl. She was somewhat more cooperative this time and moved around a bit on-screen, to her Papa's delight.

Baby Girl is lying head down and my doctor thinks it is unlikely that she will change in position at this stage so it looks like we are set for a natural delivery, God willing. She hasn't dropped -- it's too early for that -- so it isn't likely at this point that I'll go into pre-term labour. I'm dreading the engagement though, which is supposed to bring with it more pain in the groin area. As it is I already feel a constant pain in the groin area -- what do you mean it'll get worse??

In some ways, I can't wait till Baby Girl's out. At least then someone else can help carry her for a while!

I really ought to get my hospital bag packed...

  1. Can you see the stairs when you walk? Lol. Your tummy looks very intent on growing forward instead of spreading around the waist. Do you get comments that this one is a boy because your tummy is pointing out a lot? Hahaha my first reaction when I saw your photo was "OUCH!"
