A new series will be premiering on Disney Junior next week - Doc McStuffins!
Doc McStuffins is a cute little girl who is a toy doctor, fixing broken toys and making them "well" again. With the help of her toys an overly proud stuffed dragon (Stuffy), a stuffed lamb who loves to cuddle (Lambie), a jolly hippo receptionist (Hallie) and a hypochondriac stuffed snowman (Chilly), Doc McStuffins runs a doctor's clinic for toys out of her playhouse.
We were invited to a preview of the series on Wednesday at Spruce, and boy, was Noey excited! He'd seen the adverts for the show and couldn't wait to get a first look at the series. I was curious if he'd like it since it seemed a little girly to me, but he did. He laughed out - embarrassingly loudly at times - at certain parts and happily remained seated the whole time. He also got very excited when toy racing cars came out in the second episode. So yes, it seems the show would appeal to both boys and girls!
I thought the show was pretty cute too. Simple, wholesome story lines, with original songs, and the Doc also gives advice to young viewers on staying healthy, like keeping hydrated, and maintaining good hygiene, like washing your hands regularly. I also liked the fact that the toys in the series magically come alive when they are alone with Doc - and only then - because hey, who hasn't wished or imagined that their toys were really alive?
It was a fun afternoon for me too as I managed to catch up with other blogger mums at the preview event. Some whom I've met before but most of whom I've only gotten to know online. And got to know some other mums too!

I was a bit frazzled, out and about with both kids in tow alone at a time they should have been napping, but hey, at least everyone had fun. Naomi watched some of the show, particularly the bits where the songs came on, had copious amounts of unauthorised apple juice, and conned Mei's daughter into giving her stick after stick of french fries. It was a lovely afternoon.
Doc McStuffins premieres on Monday July 9, 9.30am, only on Disney Juior (Starhub Channel 311), with repeat telecasts at 1.15pm and 8pm the same day.
