DD: Scan Days are Happy Days!
They most certainly are!
We were both quite buzzing with excitement just before the appointment today. One of the things I do appreciate here in Singgers (and I suppose in private clinics) is the regular ultrasound scans we get during which we can take a peek at the little guy to see how he's doing. It's fun looking beyond my distended belly to see what's going on beneath causing me all the bumps and weird distortions. Plus it's reassuring to know that baby is growing well - my belly certainly looks like IT'S growing well! Then again, in these 4 weeks, my weight is up 1.7kgs while Little Being's is up 400gs, so I somehow think that most of the food I'm chomping down is ending up on me. Sigh.
But he's definitely growing, and looking more like a real baby, both in form and in his actions. This week, we watched amused as he idly moved his lips, swallowing, and later, raised one of his hands to rub his eye (I think it was was the right one). Normal everyday gestures, but it gives us a sense of wonder to see these developing and being performed by an itty-bitty baby-to-be.
Baby, you are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made.
