Poor Noey is starting to discover that English really isn't that straight-forward afterall.
Scenario 1
While reading a book about a crocodile with a toothache, Noey happily repeated one of the lines: "Crocodile has a toothache!". Then, as if to show his understanding of what a toothache is, he pointed at the reddish stones in the same picture and said, "Red egg! Orange egg!"
Erm, not quite, Noey.
Scenario 2
Me: "Noey, don't sit on that cushion. It's not very stable."
Noey: "Like the thief on Bracken Farm?"
He was referring to a book of his titled "The Thief on Bracken Farm" where the thief was found (yes, you guessed it) in the Stable. I tried to explain the difference to him but I think it likely went right over his head. Ah well.
He'll have to learn the difference as he gets older!
aiyoh too smart!
