High Jinks on Christmas Day

Christmas morning was double the fun with Naomi joining in for the first time! Not that she really knew what was going on. She got distracted by all the string, wrappers and boxes while Noey, wiser now, zoomed in on the real deal. "It's Christmas!" I told him when I went to wake him up, and it was enough to get him out of bed and to the present heap.

It was the first time in a long while that we were opening presents all on our own on Christmas morning. Since my parents were away and my sibs had come over the night before to exchange gifts, we skipped our customary annual Christmas morning gift exchange and present opening this year. It was a good thing I guess, considering how with 2 kids, my Christmas tree was completely overrun with presents! I can't imagine having to lug all that stuff to my parents' place!

I sheepishly told DD that I didn't have a gift for him this year, and in return, got a little box with the sweetest little pendant, and a promise to shop with me for the tea set that I've been hankering for for a while. Awww.

Us and our messy living room on Christmas morn. Barely awake but ready for presents!

"What did you get for me, woman?" Fierce-so wants to know.

Nothing, not even the need to pee, gets between Noey and his gifts.

We had to rush off to church, but before that Papa had to get down to the all-important task of assembling Noey's marble run. Since this was a gift he bought, DD decided to oblige.

We had a full day with lunch at the kids' Godparents' place, and dinner at DD's Uncle and Aunt's. It's been a long while since we've met the cousins and we were glad to have the opportunity to catch up. It was ham and more ham for us! We seem to have missed out on the turkey this year.

And just like that, Christmas was over. It was short and sweet this year. But it was happy. And happy is good.

Hope you all had a great Christmas too and see you all in 2012!
