Which to Frame?

Straw poll time!

DD's been itching to frame up several photos taken during our recent trip to US. It's rare that he would want to hang stuff on the walls - this husband of mine likes to keep the home looking clean (read: spartan). But probably because Yosemite was just so beautiful that he's got a number of photos that he wants to blow up BIG.

We've unfortunately got limited wall space - I certainly don't want huge photos all over! - so he's currently vascillating between printing all 3 photos below in a smaller size or printing 1 large one. But if he were to pick 1, he also can't figure out which to choose.

So, I thought I'd take a vote: Which do you like best and think would look nice framed? (Click each one for a bigger version)

Option 1: Yosemite Falls

Option 2: Tunnel View

Option 3: Yosemite Valley

(And yes, I still haven't done my holiday update - it's still sitting in my draft posts! But some of these photos deserve an airing so I will get down to it...)

Touchdown

Prata: 2 Bawang kosong for me, 2 Kosong and 1 Telur for DD.
Tehpeng and Kopipeng.
(And 1 extra fishball mee for Little Being cos I couldn't resist).

All a perfect breakfast make, esp when you've been away and deprived of good ol' local food for 2.5 weeks. And your body clock wakes you up, hungry, at 5am...

We're back.

Touched down on Wednesday morning at nearly 2am after a truly torturous and turbulent flight out of San Francisco and extra delays in HK which almost made me forget the great holiday that we just had. Almost but not quite, especially after we managed to collect all our bags. I guess it's a sign of a good holiday that we came back with A LOT of luggage? We had to utilise the spare bag we brought and buy a new 31" Samsonite to pack it all in and still came back with 4 pieces of check-in luggage, 2 backpacks, 1 large carry-on, 1 laptop bag and paper bags of duty-free items. We looked positively like hobos, totting around all that stuff. But hey, it was the US, and really the outlet stores were hard to beat. Or resist. (Not that we were trying very hard to anyway.)

So yes, we had a great holiday --

  • Did a lot of shopping: Gilroy and Las Vegas
  • Saw some amazing sights: Yosemite and Grand Canyon
  • Stayed in some lovely places: Both quaint like The Centralla, and downright luxurious like Bellagio and Signature
  • Watched some great shows: "O", Wayne Brady, Blue Man Group, David Copperfield
  • Ate some great food: Picasso
(But mostly of the not so exquisite variety)

    And of course,

  • Took lots of photos

More updates once I've sorted my life out. This weekend's task? Clearing out the wardrobe to make space for the new stuff!

Tis Me!

Hello world, tis me! After receiving many queries asking how I am through e-mail, IM,sms and even through my parents, I'm here, a little shamefaced, to let you know that I've been great, but obviously too lazy to blog.

Since easing into the 2nd trimester (currently 17 weeks!) life's been a LOT better - the days pass by more quickly and I've gotten my energy back. So much so that we're actually going to be off on a trip this weekend for 2 WHOLE WEEKS. In fact, make that 18 days! I don't know how long we've been dreaming of taking a long break. It's not the sabbtical that we would have liked -- with the new addition on the way, that idea would probably have to be shelved. But we couldn't resist trying to cash in on the low US Dollar, so come Saturday we're off to:

San Francisco and Las Vegas!

More like San Francisco-Yosemite-Monterey/Carmel-Las Vegas-Grand Canyon really. Nature and wildlife for DD and shopppppping for me :)

The fact we going to be in Vegas during the Memorial Day weekend (read: SALES!) was an unplanned but welcome bonus. I'm really hoping to find some nice maternity wear and nice stuff for baby aka Little Being. Now if only he/she would let us know if he/she is a boy or girl...

So yes, I'm going to go MIA yet again real soon. Oops. I'll be back. And in the meantime, all suggestions of where to go/what to do are welcome!
