On the Flyer

We took the opportunity last Sat, since Nat is back, to do the tourist thing and check out the Singapore Flyer. We'd received rather ho-hum reviews about the ride from others, which resulted in us having pretty low expectations prior to the ride. But this probably turned out to be a good thing since we found that we actually enjoyed ourselves. Haha. It is quite fun picking out and viewing certain landmarks from a different angle, like our office buildings and the National Stadium, and the giant mess of a construction site, and also looking out to spot outlying islands. DD was, of course, happy since he got to play with his camera and had plenty of subjects (willing or otherwise) to point the camera at. What can I say? We're easily entertained.

We even capped off the whole experience by buying the cheesy photoshopped souvenir photo which depicted us standing in a flyer capsule with the city skyline in the background AND the National Day Parade 08 - complete with the helicopters flying in the national flag! We gave it to DDMum as a memento of the occasion. One thing though, $29.50 per pax is really ex!

  2. it is a good thing that you went in the day and that it was clear weather. The view's not that great at night or if it is raining!

  4. ruth >> err, the construction won't be done for a long time! at $29.50, it's practically $1 a minute!

corsage >> it was actually drizzling on our way there but it kinda cleared up by the time we got on. oh, we thought it might be interesting at night to see the night lights! guess not huh?

elaine >> i think it's worth going up at least once. maybe when you have visitors from out of town?
