Simple Pleasures:101

If I were Noey, I would have thought that my Saturday kind of sucked.

First my Mum came out of the room all changed while I was having breakfast. When I saw her, I immediately thought she was bringing me to the park. "Park! Feed Swans!", I said. She just told me to finish my breakfast quickly, misleading me into thinking that we were in fact going to the park.

Then instead of the park, she brings me to a church to attend a wedding where I'm required to sit, play quietly and keep quiet for an hour.

Shortly after I'm finally turned loose, she brings me home for lunch and then disappears for the WHOLE afternoon to attend a wedding lunch, promising to bring me to the museum when she gets back. But by the time she got back, it was nearly 5pm, making it too late to go to the museum after all.

Like I said, if I were Noey, I would have thought that my Saturday was a wash out.

But not Noey. When guilty Mummy asked him if he wanted to head out for a walk or to play or for a swim, he brushed me off with a firm "Dowan!" dragged me over to my bed and commanded me to "sit down!" while he went back to his all-time favourite activity -- pushing his toy cars on the bed.

Up and down, up and down, Noey and the cars would go.
(And yes, my baby has huge hands.)

Sometimes it's not the fanciest plans, but the simplest pleasures that make a day enjoyable.

Did you just want you to sit there and watch him play?

  2. natchin :: yes! honestly it's the best thing ever. he can entertain himself with the cars for a good 30 minutes most of the time. i can do my own thing as long as i'm in the room.

  5. True true. no need for fancy stuff. They are just happy having us play with them. No matter how simple it can be, like jumping on bed. Haha
