Beach Boy: Rehabilitated

It seemed wrong to be on Sentosa and not hit the beach at least once. So on the morning we due to check out of Capella, we took a walk down to catch some sun and surf.

It wasn't without some trepidation that we headed down. Afterall, the last time we were on the same beach, Noey had refused to step on the sand. But he was very keen on going this time round, repeatedly showing me his spade and going "dig!" very earnestly when I mentioned hitting the beach.

As it turned out, somewhere in the last half a year or so, he shed his fear for the sand and the sea. He LOVED the sand (though he did keep his shoes on most of the time). "Dig! dig!" he happily declared before settling down to work doing just that.

So engrossed was he in his task that he did not make a squeak for a good 30-45 minutes, which is something of a record for our noisy baby.

That left Mummy free to do her own thing, and so engrossed was she in her phone and that she failed to stop Noey from merrily destroying her little row of sand castles!

(Ok, I don't know why I referred to myself in third person there.)

Our choice to hit the beach on that Monday morning was rather fortuitous: it was a perfect cloudy day. The perfect day, in fact, to hang out on the beach and catch the sea breeze, and dig to your heart's content without worrying about dying from heat stroke or fending off the mid-day glare. It was 12 noon when we took these photos but it didn't feel like it.

See, I could even keep my eyes open for a non-squinty photograph, albeit not for long. (You should see the after takes!)

After all the digging, Noey capped off a good beach day having fun running into the waves like a good beach boy should.

Sharing a good laugh with Papa as the waves "attack" his feet.

Noey even attempts a sand bath

I am more than pleased about his new-found comfort with the beach -- we are on for beach holidays again!

Let's go to Sentosa again Papa!
