Wellies for the Wet Weather

In a turn around from the absolutely hot and sweltering February that just passed, it's been pouring quite a bit these past couple of weeks. Whether you believe in global warming or not, the weather has been rather screwy in recent years.

Poor Noey has been house-bound quite a bit these few weeks, no thanks to the wet weather. It hasn't stopped him from dragging me to the front door and attempting to command me out the door by going "Door! Kai-Kai!". The other day he even impressively came up to me and said "Take Bus!" He must have been really desperate to get out. When I asked him where we could take the bus he paused to look at me meaningfully before gesturing at the door and going "Door. Outside. Road."

(I really love these little conversations I can now have with him. They totally crack me up.)

Despite Noey's best efforts, it sometimes is just too wet for us to get out of the house. But thanks to Godma Daph's pressie, we might just have the thing to go splashing in puddles with when the weather permits:

Noey's new Liverpool Wellies!

On top of being positively cute, they are also, thankfully still too big for Mr Bigfoot here (Noey wears US size 7 going on 8) since Godma was fortunately clued in on his off-the-charts feet size.

DD was naturally chuffed to have them branded with the crest of his favourite team, though it was quite lost on Noey obviously. In fact, he took a look at the crest, pointed at the Liverbird and went "Chicken."

Come to think of it though, that maybe kinda accurately sums up Liverpool's season. Perhaps the boy is more clued in than we think! Heh.

The Kop Comes to Town

We might not be going for the match but it is a Liverpool weekend after all. So Daddy and Baby got dressed for the occasion.

Matching sets

"Go Reds! V for Victory!"

They certainly were not the only ones as we encountered quite a few others similarly kitted out for the weekend. We were thinking of catching the team on the river cruise but after fitting in Noey's nap, we realised we wouldn't get to Boat Quay by 1.30pm, much less get a good spot. So we discarded the idea and went shopping instead.

And whaddya know, the jerseys came in handy with fellow fans. One chap (in the European Away kit) gave us his table in the crowded Starbucks. And another two chaps came over to chat, amused by our baby's get-up. It's amazing how strangers can bond over a mutual interest!

To those of you going to the game tomorrow, have fun! One of the guys we spoke to today had just flown back from Bangkok after catching the game there and he said that while the spectators were Liverpool fans holding afloat Liverpool scarves, they cheered for the Thai team. Somehow I don't think Singaporean fans are going to be that patriotic.

We'll be catching the game on telly.

Little Liver

"Really, Daddy? Our team beat Villa 5-0 last night (while I was asleep)?"

"Looks like it's going to be a nail-biting end to the season!"

(I thought this cap was a toddler's cap when I bought it but it seems to fit him just fine now. DD is lamenting the fact that he may have inherited his big head. Hee hee.)

Man U 1 - 4 Liverpool

No prizes for guessing who dressed Noah today.

Romper was a Christmas present for Noah, courtesy of my bro, but I think it's really more DD's present. The hubs is understandably over the moon after yesterday's excellent result and has happily declared that he will be reading football news and wearing his kit cufflinks for a week. Men! They can be so easily satisfied sometimes!
